Wallpaper woes!

Hi everyone!!

So it has definitely been one of those weeks this week! I won’t go into details but I’ll be glad to get it over with, lets just put it that way!! I have, however, been quite productive which is nice.  I managed to finish an owl brooch and two phone/Ipod covers but I’ve only managed to photograph one.

Blue bow phone/Ipod cover!

As you can see, my awful photography skills strike again! I attempted to change the White Balance on my camera but it has so many dials and buttons I have no idea if I actually managed it! I deffo think I need to find a tutorial or something :-S Anyway I haven’t listed this bad boy yet but hopefully I’ll get around to that later!! I am also very close to finishing a toadstool brooch which I am pretty pleased with so far 😀

I moved in to a new house in September and we decided that now is the right time to start a little redecorating! The house is fine as it is but I want to mak it a little more me……..or should I say us 😛 Me and my boyfriend have very VERY different tastes in decor so I wasn’t expecting it to be easy but to be honest it’s gone well! We’ve decided on purple/plum for the living room and have narrowed it down to two wallpapers we like……

Close up of wallpaper one.

Close up of wallpaper two.

I’m quite partial to the first one but what do you guys think? I’ve put the pictures on Facebook too and it seems to be quite even with the flower one ahead by maybe a little bit!

Side by side.

I don’t think the colours show up very well on here (my AMAZING photography skills again!!) but the colours are so rich! We are only doing the chimney breast in it as a sort of feature wall!! I’m so excited 🙂

In other news I’m thinking of starting a new Blog……don’t worry I won’t be getting rid of this one 😛 I’m hoping to get more arty and creative. I know you can’t force that sort of thing but a good friend of mine has stated that she would like to be creative for at least 10 mins a day (Yes Carmen I’m talking about you!)! It’s actually not as easy as it sounds 😛 Anyway my new Blog will hopefully be about my arty adventures…..get ready for a horror show people as I have many disasters when I pick up pencil’s paint or anything else like that 😛

And I’m going to end with some self promotion……….visit my Etsy store Snowbunnysknits for all your cute knitty needs 🙂

Just a very quick post today!! I’ve been away for longer than I had intended but I haven’t been slacking I promise! I’ve been waiting for some new buttons to arrive and they have YAY!

Blue and white polka dot!

All the above buttons are fabric covered and I can’t wait to use them 😀

Multi coloured stars!

I love stars so I had to have these bad boys 😀 I don’t plan to use these as buttons though as they are pretty small and making button holes is not my strong point haha!!

Thats it really! Hopefully I will have some new projects using my new buttons to show you very soon!! I have some media cases, phone covers etc up my sleeve and some new brooches hopefully!!

Have a good weekend everyone!!

Knitting a sweater is fun to do!

Hey everyone 🙂

So as some of you may know I’ve started knitting myself a sweater from a book I received as a Christmas present!! It seems to be going pretty well at the moment which is always nice 😛

It's getting looooong!

This is the whole length including the rib at the bottom! It’s actually longer than I thought it was going to be so god knows if it will fit haha! It could end up as a dress haha!!

Shaping the arm hole!

I’ve even managed to start shaping the arm holes…..I always find this is the hard bit!! Anything that needs shaping I usually shape wrong!! All in all it seems to be successful!! I’m not a very disciplined knitter as I just want it to be finished as soon as possible 😛

In other news I’ve started some new media covers which I’m  really pleased with!! I’m hoping to get them finished soon! It’s always the photo taking bit that gets me though! I have to wait for a really sunny day…..and even then my photos always seem to look dark! I’m not sure where I’m going wrong :-S

Media cover!

Here is a sneak peek at the first one 😉 I will be listing it in SnowBunnysKnits as soon as I can!! Go check it out and let me know what you think!!

Progress, sweet sweet progress!

Hello everyone!!

So on Tuesday I did one of my favourite things WOOL SHOPPING!! YAY! I bought the wool I needed to complete my sweater from my “knitting vintage” book! I went in with every intention of getting a nice pastel colour………

Me and my Teal wool!

………yes I do realise teal isn’t pastel coloured 😛 I’m not good at choosing pastel colours as I prefer bright and colourful ones!! I genuinely did try! Well at least it’s not red for a change haha!! The pattern seems to be quite easy at the moment but then again I haven’t got to the arm holes or anything yet!!

Progress so far!

I’ve completed the ribbing at the bottom and started the main bit of the jumper!! I bought cheap wool since it’s my first try……I can see it all going wrong at some point 😛 I also think i may have picked the wrong size as this looks very small!! Oh well it’s all good practice I guess!!

I also managed to complete some items for my little Etsy shop! It’s been a while so I’m quite pleased! Just have to do the worst part now………setting up the listing *groan* haha!

Bow Mug Hug!

Leaf Mug Hug!

As you can see I’m not very good at taking photos…..they always end up too dark!! I’m still toying with the idea of a light box of some sort to help me out!!

Oh Sew Beautiful!

I am Oh So behind with my Blogging due to the big house move and waiting for the internet to be connected!! It was finally done today but the Jury is still out as to whether it’s actually working properly or not!!

Soooo anyway a couple of weeks a go I was asked to make a Mug Hug for the lovely Oh Sew Beautiful! I was very excited as I’ve never sold a Mug Hug before even though I do have quite a few in my Etsy Shop (Snow Bunnys Knits)! I used a design I have in my shop but in a colour that she requested! Well she requested ‘dusty pink’ I must admit dusty pink is not a colour you will find in my stash and I wasn’t actually sure what would constitute dusty pink but I took a quick trip down to the wool store to see what I could find!

After standing there for about half an hour deliberating between two pinks, walking towards the counter and then changing my mind more than once I finally picked my Dusty pink!! I also picked up a couple of little wooden flower buttons for the fastening!! I was pretty nervous as a Mug Hug has to be the right size….obviously or it will either not go around your cup or slip off and that would be baaaaaaaaad! The pattern is a basket weave pattern which I find very appealing to look at but in the end I decided it needed a little something else……a bow 😀 I picked a cream organza ribbon and made my bow!

Jodi's Mug Hug!

Ta-da….what do you all think? I’ve only just learnt how to tie a proper bow so I was pleased with this effort!! I think it adds a little something…well I hope it does! I guess we will have to ask Oh Sew Beautiful…….. 🙂 All in all it was a pretty good custom experience which I hope to repeat!! Incidently should I continue to call them Mug Hug’s or is cup cozie better???

If anyone would like a custom mug hug or scarf then please feel free to contact me or browse my Etsy shop for ideas!! I’m taking orders now 🙂

Hope you are all looking forward to your weekend!!
