Papercuts – The good kind!

Hello everyone!

Just a quick one today really! I’m knit knit knitting away trying to get my custom Teddy Bear hats done 😀 I have completed one and I’ve almost finished the second one! I couldn’t take photos though as it’s been raining today and the light in here is awful!! Once the hats are done its on to some coats and socks….also for the bears! The best dressed bears in the world me thinks 🙂

So to the Paper Cuts!! I have to admit, paper cutting as an art form is something im fascinated with! Mainly because I have no clue how to do it haha! I just can’t imagine how to cut something out of paper and make it look that good!! The first time I ever saw this Paper Cutting was in a shop called Utility! It was the work of Rob Ryan!

'Believe In Goodness'

Isn’t this lovely?? If you get a chance you should definitely check out the website!! Anyway, my lovely friend Katie likes to cut paper 🙂 When she first told me about it I was very intrigued and I was right to be! Her stuff is sooooo cool!!

Facebook

Yes, that really is a Paper Cut Facebook page 😀 I couldn’t believe it when I saw it but I knew what it was as soon as I saw it!!

Jumper!

You can check out her website at Katie Cuts Paper! I’ve asked for a couple of commissions from her! Sadly I don’t have any photos of those 😦 One was a lovely pink cupcake for a cupcake swap I did and the other was a Strawberry as a Christmas present for another friend!! I REALLY wish I could do something like this!! If you would like to see my (sad) attempts at Art, check out my new Blog ‘Pouring My HART Out’!

That is it for now folks, go and enjoy the paper cutting  loveliness 🙂

Oh Sew Beautiful!

I am Oh So behind with my Blogging due to the big house move and waiting for the internet to be connected!! It was finally done today but the Jury is still out as to whether it’s actually working properly or not!!

Soooo anyway a couple of weeks a go I was asked to make a Mug Hug for the lovely Oh Sew Beautiful! I was very excited as I’ve never sold a Mug Hug before even though I do have quite a few in my Etsy Shop (Snow Bunnys Knits)! I used a design I have in my shop but in a colour that she requested! Well she requested ‘dusty pink’ I must admit dusty pink is not a colour you will find in my stash and I wasn’t actually sure what would constitute dusty pink but I took a quick trip down to the wool store to see what I could find!

After standing there for about half an hour deliberating between two pinks, walking towards the counter and then changing my mind more than once I finally picked my Dusty pink!! I also picked up a couple of little wooden flower buttons for the fastening!! I was pretty nervous as a Mug Hug has to be the right size….obviously or it will either not go around your cup or slip off and that would be baaaaaaaaad! The pattern is a basket weave pattern which I find very appealing to look at but in the end I decided it needed a little something else……a bow 😀 I picked a cream organza ribbon and made my bow!

Jodi's Mug Hug!

Ta-da….what do you all think? I’ve only just learnt how to tie a proper bow so I was pleased with this effort!! I think it adds a little something…well I hope it does! I guess we will have to ask Oh Sew Beautiful…….. 🙂 All in all it was a pretty good custom experience which I hope to repeat!! Incidently should I continue to call them Mug Hug’s or is cup cozie better???

If anyone would like a custom mug hug or scarf then please feel free to contact me or browse my Etsy shop for ideas!! I’m taking orders now 🙂

Hope you are all looking forward to your weekend!!

The Custom scarf……is COMPLETE!

Heeelllloooo everyone! Just a quick post today (hoping to post the rest of my Comic Con photos over the weekend!) to show you all that I FINALLY finished the custom order scarf!! WOOOOO I can’t tell you how happy I am!!

wooooo its done!

I’m sorry about the incredibly bad, strange coloured photo of the infamous scarf! I’m STILL in the middle of moving so all of my really useful stuff is in boxes….and sadly I didn’t label anything up…..I can almost hear the cries from my more organised friends! The colour is a nice mint green and the hearts are in cream! It’s taken so long to knit as I got the order the week my Dad passed away and my brain was somewhere else for a little while!

The lady who ordered this scarf has been an absolute saint so I really hope she likes it! Please everyone keep your fingers crossed for me!! I will be posting it at the weekend and then its on to my next custom order! It’s for a Mug Hug which should be a lot quicker to do 😛 It’s for the lovely Oh Sew Beautiful (click to check out her Blog).  She makes some really cute stuff that she sells on Folksy, I have my eye on the Christmas decks 😀 They really are the cutest things!

So to my knitting! I’m making  a huge HUGE effort to make it take off this winter! Scarfs are my speciality after all! I am offering custom scarfs on Etsy (don’t worry if you don’t have an Etsy as long as you have a PayPal you can contact me and we will sort it out!).  This means you can have any of the designs in pretty much any colour you like! There will be some lovely stripe ones, plain, and some with motifs which I am working on as we speak! 🙂 Just think it will be Autumn soon, we could all do with a nice warm scarf! I will also be selling some Christmas themed stuff! If you are looking for hand-made Christmas then look no further! The patterns are Alan dart patterns…..and we all know how amazing his stuff is!! Follow my Facebook page (snow bunnys knits) and Twitter (@snowbunny_caz) to keep you up to date with whats going on!! I am really excited about all this and I really hope you will be excited too 🙂

Well I am off for now, see you all soon 🙂

Making my craft space a little cuter…..

Hola everyone 🙂

Sooooooo my lovely Friend Carmen from Crafty Whoopidoo….ings makes the most lovely canvases……don’t let her tell you she doesn’t because I have proof……

Ta-Da……isn’t it lovely?? Sorry about the really bad quality photo, I will get better photos once I dig out one of my cameras from the millions of boxes currently stuffed into my mum’s attic…..that is a whole different story haha!

Anyway back to the fab canvas! I didn’t really give her much of a brief just red and cute but not girly haha!! I’m so glad she picked an owl as I LOVE owls 😀 You can’t really see it in this awful photo but its shiny and the owl and some of the leaves stand-off the canvas to give it a bit of depth! I love the colours too! The yellow works well with the red!

My plan is to put him up in my little craft room in my new house…..if I ever get a new house (that is also a completely different story!!)! I think he is going to look great on the wall (I will take photos of that when it happens!!), I may even decorate around it!!

I’m so pleased with the canvas that I’ve asked for another one!! This one will be a birthday present for my Friends baby! I thought it would look really nice on the wall of the nursery! I’ve got a few more ideas for this one and Carmen has been great listening to them! My main plan is to let her work her magic on it though as I know she will do an amazing job! 😀

I’m so pleased with it and so grateful too! WOO! So I think everyone should go on over to Carmen’s Blog and check it out 🙂 You won’t be disappointed!!

I don’t really have any more news yet……or photos 😦 that bit is making me very sad as I love to document everything that happens! I can’t bloody wait to move…….everyone cross their fingers the house moves happens soon!!

Take Care everyone!!

A song that makes me feel Guilty?!?!

Hello everyone!

I don’t know how many of you have Facebook, if you do you might have noticed a “game” going round called “30 day song challenge”.  For those of you who don’t know, the aim os the game is to post a song each day that relates to a certain statement!! For example, day 8: a song you know all of the words to,  day 17: a song you hear often on the radio and so on and so on! Well its been relatively straightforward up till now….maybe a little difficult to pick just one song in some cases but then I noticed this one coming up soon day 28: a song that makes you feel guilty……….I can honestly say there is not a song out there that makes me feel guilty!!! I mean, I’m not being weird am I, this is a little odd??

Do any of you guys have songs that make you feel guilty? If so what are they? I am intrigued now!! I think I will just have to put a song I like there 😛 Or maybe I can put a song about guilt on?? hmmmm…..now I’m thinking 😛

Also I have discovered this lovely little Blog just yesterday, Laura Loves Knitting.  I was looking for a tea cosy pattern (more about that in a sec) on Knitting Pattern Central when one of the patterns caught my eye and took me to Laura’s Blog! She only has a couple of posts up but the stuff she has done is so cute! I am definitely going to keep an eye on this one!!

Now to my tea cosy!! I’m FINALLY doing a personal project….well its personal in the sense that it’s a gift and not for my Etsy Shop!! I’ve never made a tea cost before so I’m quite excited…I also foresee much unpicking and restarting 😛 The pattern is Here and is very cute!!

Wish me luck 🙂 Enjoy your evening!
