Time does indeed fly!

Argh I haven’t done very many crafty things at all recently!! I’m blaming the fact that we had to put the clocks forward an hour on Sunday……I totally lost an hour and I don’t seem to have got it back yet :-S I don’t even have any WIP to show this Wednesday either BOO!! I also blame the fact that we are in the middle of decorating our living/dining room…..

The walls were originally yellow on top and brown on the bottom….don’t ask it was nothing to do with me haha! We are going to have a feature wall in Mulberry Burst 😀 EXCITED!! I’m hoping to work on my purses tomorrow!! I’m having trouble with the zips as Iv never sewn a zip to anything in my life! Hopefully I can pop them in a post on Friday 🙂

I don’t really watch a lot of TV but all my fave programmes seem to be on at once now!! CSI (all time fave show), Waking the Dead (Show about cold case detectives!!), Midsomer Murders (Typically English detective show), and now Lewis!! I go for months on end without switching the TV on and now I’m trying to fit stuff in around it!! DOH

These are some of the postcards I have been sent from Swap-Bot! I particularly like the Kentucky one!! I’ve added them to my little album….I’m gathering quite a collection now which is good!! I would really like to make more matchboxes but i really can’t seem to find the time :-S

Oh and in some sad news…..The Bluetones split up 😦 They announced it on Monday…..their next tour will be the last!! Its going to be very weird as me and my friend Laura go every year to see them!! I will have to do a tribute post at some point 😛

Are You Blue or Are You Blind?

I spent my Friday night at a club in Town called the Krazy House….yes it is a bit of an odd name 😛 It’s the local Rock/Alternative Club…hence the name!!! I’ll be honest its a dingy place…and can quite often smell of sweat!! However, I was there for a reason……to see the singer of my fave band (The Bluetones) play a solo set…….

 

Mark Morriss!

 

I love this guy!! I have followed his band since I was 16ish (that’s 11 years in case you are wondering :-P)! Sometimes we would go to two gigs on every tour! The local Liverpool one and the one down the road in Manchester! I own every single album and actually love them all!! And the great thing is how small the gigs are! That may sound a little odd but it’s so cool to be so close to the band when they play!!b he played a few Bluetones songs and some of his own 🙂

I’ve actually had the pleasure of meeting Mark Morriss on two occasions now!

I look truly awful on this photo…I hadn’t realised we would get to meet him so I hadn’t washed my hair or anything 😛 I was so embarrassed….I cringe just thinking about it now haha!!

This was the first time! I look a lot better but I was shaking like a leaf haha!! That’s his glass of wine I’m holding too! He asked me to hold it and you could see the wine splashing around in the glass I was shaking so much!! It really was a very happy moment for me and Laura!! I mean look at my face…I look like I’m either going to be sick or burst out laughing! I do laugh a lot when im nervous 😛

In other news my ZIPS have arrived WOO!! I’m just trying to work out the best way to attach them now haha! I’ve never added a zip to anything before! Wish me luck! I will more than likely have to do a few practice ones first!! I put a cute lime coloured one on the Lime slice purse from the other day……I’m not sure! I will have to post it so you can all let me know what you think!!!

Oh and in case you were wondering about the title of this post…..Are You Blue or Are You Blind? is the title of one of my favourite Bluetones songs 🙂

FO Friday!

This is going to be the quickest post in the history of the world 😛 I’m in work very soon and then I’m meeting people straight after…..I’m not a fan of rushing around so I’m trying not to think bout it too much 😛

So I don’t have much that I’ve finished….I don’t have any personal projects on the go at the moment *SOBS* and I’m still waiting to collect my zippers to finish my purses etc!! But I did manage to finish a little Brooch…..

To be honest with you I don’t really like it :-S I was trying to use up that weird cream coloured yarn up….but I’m not really a cream coloured yarn person so im a bit Blah about it 😛 Iv stuffed it with some soft toy filling so its kind of cool that its squishy!! And I do like the little button bow……..yeah I just don’t like the colour I’m afraid!!

I think i should have put the title the other way round as I’m actually starting with my Work In Progress!! It’s actually very near completetion but it isn’t finished just yet……maybe cheating a little but I really really wanted to post it today haha! I hope you all forgive me!!

Lime...or maybe Kiwi!

This little bad boy is eventually going to be a purse 😀 I know it doesn’t look like much now but I’m very excited! The Purse itself is just K each row….the star of the purse is my little lime…well I intended it to be a lime but my boyfreind thinks it looks more like a kiwi…..what do you guys all think?? I also made the little bow myself (you can’t see so well here but it has a little lime slice stuck on the middle of the knot bit!)

Sorry about the bad photo…..i took it using my point and shoot and i can really REALLy tell the difference than with my usual camara!! I’m just awaiting the arrival of the zips…i was thinking of using a contrasting zip colour (maybe like a lime green) instead of yellow…again what do you guys all think?? Maybe I will have to make mock ups of both ways to see which is best!! I’ve had lots of fun with this and I guess in the long run thats the important thing!!

Ta-da 🙂 another piece I am incredibly proud of!! You can buy it from Snow Bunny’s Knits on Etsy! I’ve changed the format a little…I realised that all the devices i am making the cases for come in a lot of different sizes and that people might like fastenings on top etc!! So now, once you have ordered a media case, you can mail me the exact dimensions you would like it so i will knit it to order!! A good idea yes?? Ah i hope so…i can give it a go anyway can’t i!!

Ah well today the sun is shining so I think i will go and enjoy it a little……inevitbly (in this country) it will be dull and chilly again soon so I have to go out in it whilst I can 😛 If you want to see more WIP click the banner at the very top and go browse the lovely pieces 🙂

Lilac Lovely followed with a dash of FO Friday!!

So I’m trying something new today….FO Friday (Finished Object Friday!)

So I have a couple of things I’ve finished off this week (makes a change :-P) But I chose this Lilac Lovely Media case thingy I’ve been trying to do for a while!!

I’m not a huge fan of lilac and I do find it hard to work with colours im not really in to 😛 I made the pattern up myself and it didn’t take too long to do the main body (it’s just all Knit stitches!!). The Flower originally started as circles that went wrong! I came up with the idea of the flowers and it gave me a chance to use the really cute little buttons I recently got!! You can’t really tell in this photo but its Glittery (the button I mean!!).

 

Lilac Lovely Back!

 

I’m not sure if I should start adding decorations to the back….what do you think? What do you think of the colour too? Or is it just me who has something against lilac!?! 😛
